Press and Publicity Officer report

Reminders sent out to press re CKA tournament and counties.

Citysport 6 seniors turned up and course is taking place, only 3 juniors turned up, these were incorporated into junior training.

Our coach may be able to charge City £15 per hour for coaching

 

Junior Committee report

CKA participated in v. good National Youth Day and had good parental support.

Annouced that Juniors named “Cambridge Knights”.

Discussion of giving ball as present for naming team but need to find out who suggested the Cambridge Knights.  Cost would be approx £22.  Will review at the next meeting

Club school link was successful.  Feed back from schools was that the coaches were excellent.  Thanks to Liv, Nick, and Zareh for hosting coaches.  Disappointing that Liv had to cancel holiday to host – it is to be hoped that more people could be involved in the future. Liv has written to schools and helpers to thank them.

 

Coaching

27th July coaching course organised for people playing between 3 and 18 months.  15 people needed to break even.  Venue will be at Netherhall with Max Buttinger as coach.  Clubs to give names of interested people to Scott as soon as possible, Monday 15th latest.  Cost £20 per person for sessions 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm.

No response as yet re more advanced course.

Liv is taking the National League Squad to Holland for weekend of coaching.

 

Cambridge tournament at Littleport

25 senior teams have confirmed.

Laptop computer is not required.

Live to check with Phil B and Sijbren for expected junior numbers by Thursday – if to low junior matches will be cancelled.

PA organised.

8 pitches marched out Thurs/Fri for seniors and 2 for juniors

Lunchtime competition for Sports Relief will be organised..  JAM and SAM will organise, £1 to enter.

Beer for refs will be provided.

Post transport is sorted out.

Red Cross cannot provide First Aid cover, St John’s are being asked, Lee to check out what is availabel at Littleport.

Disco tickets have been handed out, more will be available on the door.

Money will be collected by Brenda on the day.

Lee to look into purchase of trophies for Cup and Plate competitions.

 

Counties Tournament

T-shirts are being printed.

Social tickets have been produced at £4 each, venue – The Boat Race.

18 counties entered so far.

Lee needs volunteers for the meal – 4 helpers at anyone time.  Club reps to ask for these.

Andy doing drinks and tuck shop stuff.  Lee is doing the barbecue.

Liv is organising St John’s cover.

Scott is happy to make the CKA website, shared ideas re contents.

Summer League – Lia will organise something to take place during August.

Insurance.  Stech policy is still the best cover around.  It is now due at £400 cost to be shared 6 ways between all clubs (except Uni) and CKA.

National Youth Day will take place on Sunday 6th July , 2003 in Cambridge.  Liv to ask Andy about poss. Venues (13 pitches were used in 2002).  To discuss in future.

 

Date of AGM and next meeting

Thursday 5th September, 2002 at 7.30pm in the Boot, Histon, the AGM will take place which will be followed by the committtee meeting. Ian to book.
