FIXTURES:

RESULTS:

JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT:

Korfball Kidz was held at CRC, January 21st 2007. 26 children showed and they all had lots of fun. Thanks to Julie in particular for doing most of the preparation. Thanks to Reda, Kat and Sue for carting posts around. Special thanks to the coaches who did such an amazing job and really inspired the children.

REFEREEING:

COACHING:

Nothing to report.

PUBLICITY:

I have been in touch with the Cambridge Evening News and have introduced myself and have also wrote a summary of what's happening in the C.K.A Leagues at the moment. (Hopefully will be printed in next weeks issue)

I plan to write a piece for the B.K.A magazine about how Korfball in Cambridge is going this season.(If anyone would like anything specific to be mentioned please let me know by the 16th Feb) And I will also be doing the same for the Living Sport Magazine.

CPO:

Nothing to report.

SENIOR DEVELOPMENT:

1. CHILD PROTECTION:

Vikings have an U18 player that they would like forms signed for at the meeting. Her name is Harriet Watts and she is 15 years old. She is a County netball player and is a very strong girl. Approved.

CPO Contact details

Sam has emailed out her address. Email address is on the CKA website. Sam's telephone number is 01353 723667. This will be put on the CKA website.

CP procedures

Clubs are responsible for completing and keeping necessary paperwork as per the BKA CP Policy. CKA will keep a register of approved juniors. CKA needs copies of risk assessments for venues, to be held by CKA and distributed to all clubs. Sam to email CKA to make it clear what clubs need to do.

Priority is to get coaches CRB checked then referees. CRB checks stalled as identity check can only be done by one person at BKA. Can the BKA have more than one signatory, ideally one per area ? Can the CKA get its own number for CRB checks ? Need to ask these questions and find a solution.

AOB:

Strong junior setup in Cambridgeshire clubs. Think there should be an area juniors setup. Reda to produce a proposal, in liaison with Liv, for presentation at future meeting. Need to detail any decisions and funding requirements.

Vikings are holding a junior mini-tournament for U13s. Saturday 10th February, 11.30 am – 2.30 pm at Ely College. Entry fee £25 per team.

Varsity match on Saturday 10th February, 1-4 pm, KK. 2nd team then 1st team match. Zac to email the CKA.

Warm up – Vikings queried warm up time for matches.

Each club should book at least an hour for each match. This hour allows for 5 minutes of warm up, 50 minutes of play and 5 minutes for half time. Nominally the warm up period begins at the official match time and the match begins 5 minutes later.

Tigers are to get Korfball line markings put down at the Perse.

Reda and Hugh went on a coaching course. CKA to pay £20 towards this.
