SENIOR DEVELOPMENT (Vacant):

JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT:

Vikings have arranged a series of junior tournaments at Ely college. The dates and times have now been confirmed :

U9s January 24th

U13s February 7th

U11s February 28th

All are on Sundays, and run from 12-5 pm. Cost for entry is £25 per team.

I have been contacted by a representative for a combined London U16 team who are looking for matches. I'd like to get a CKA U16 team together, but need to get a date which suits both teams. London say they want the game on a Saturday. Does anyone know if the hall they use would be available for a couple of hours on a Saturday afternoon, towards the end of this month ?

Need team managers. Andy D to send email to ask for volunteers.

1. DEVELOPMENT PLAN PROGRESS

Andy D to talk to Adam and Nick A about getting fixtures and results on CKA website.

Senior

- actively work to create new clubs – Finding volunteers to help start this is an issue.
- expand the geographic base of the CKA – new club needs to be in a new area.
- coaching courses – maybe demand for another Level 1 course. Liv to send email.

- refereeing courses – trying to arrange.

4 BAD WEATHER PROCEDURE

It was agreed :

The away team captain/coach decides if the away team should not travel and communicates this

to :

- the home team captain/coach

- the refereeing coordinator of the refereeing club

- the away team players

If the hall is closed or if the home team captain/coach decides the home team should not travel they communicate this to :

- the away team captain/coach

- the hall staff so that they can inform anyone turning up and they can then go home

- the refereeing coordinator of the refereeing club

- the home team players

If EITHER the away team OR the home team decide the should not travel then the match does not go ahead.

The refereeing coordinator of the refereeing club informs the referee.

Each club should provide team captain/coach and refereeing coordinator contact details. There should be more than 1 contact in case that person is unavailable for some reason.

If the referee turns up because they could not be contacted then the CKA pays the referee's fee.

Howard to draft changes to league rules, outlining procedure, to be drafted for adoption at AGM

NEXT MEETING

Late February, TBD.

AOB:

Match timings

As per the CKL rules these are :

'4.3.4 Matches shall nominally consist of 5 minutes warm up, plus 2 halves of 25 minutes (excluding timeouts), plus 2 minutes for time-outs, plus 3 minutes for half time I.e. 60 minutes in total. If less than 60 minutes is available then the half time may be shortened by 1 minute, after which the halves must be shortened. Warm up time should always be at least 5 minutes for both teams.'

This means matches should start at 5 minutes after the scheduled fixture time. IF both teams had access to the hall before the scheduled fixture time AND BOTH teams are agreeable, the match may be started earlier.

Andy R to send email to referees reminding them of match timings.
