REPORTS

CHAIRPERSON:

Paul Williams (Vikings) has volunteered to be CKA Fixtures Officer

SECRETARY:

Nothing to report

TREASURER:

About £3,800 in bank plus a little to come in from City. There is money in the budget to match clubs’ contributions to coaching courses, and to cover the entry fee for the Senior Inter Area tournament.

FIXTURES:

No report

RESULTS:

Nothing to report

SENIOR DEVELOPMENT (vacant):

The committee congratulated the Senior Inter Area squad for their second place, and thanked Jo Ford (manager) and Chelsie Browne (coach) for their contribution.

JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT:

City, Tigers and sometimes Vikings have a good level of activity and collaboration to provide regular match play for youngsters not involved in regional academies.

Phil, Simon and Liv went to a teacher conference and ran a session for 16 teachers for an hour. Had some interest in getting korfball into schools as a result, as well as a better connection with the organisers of the training. Liv also met Northstowe who are keen to get korfball into curriculum and spread the word around secondary schools. Also expansion of Northstowe sports hall could present an opportunity for centralised regional / premier league games.

Phil reported that East Cambs Sports Partnership are organising a primary school korfball festival, get 6-8 primary schools for a couple of hours and see which schools are interested to take it up.

REFEREEING:

Q Assessment for Ben Searcey.

Laura Neaves requested support to for Lions on refereeing. I agreed to help but no dates agreed yet.

CKA Ref Course on 11th Nov hosted by Colliers. Open to all CKA and well attended.

Teo Wator received feedback and assessment at EK Flanders Event in June.

Paul Williams (Vikings) has asked about assessment. I've put ball in his court but happy to do when he feels ready.

COACHING (Vacant):

No report.

PUBLICITY:

No report.

WELFARE AND CHILD PROTECTION:

Nothing to report.

1. FIXTURES OFFICER

Paul Williams was co-opted to be CKA Fixtures Officer.

NEXT MEETING

Next meeting will be the AGM in September.

AOB

  1. Discussion of league entries next season: City indicated a possibility of entering a 6th team. Vikings will pull out of SERL but keep 4 teams in CKL

  2. Discussion of whether there was a need to amend team composition rules in CKL (to restrict SERL players playing down) ; no appetite from the committee for such changes.

  3. Discussion of coaching courses: Philip to share feedback from Phoenix on Level 2 course with England Korfball; Philip has shared details of next Level 2 course at Nottingham, 30th August + virtual sessions.
