Latest League and National League News

Our national league team have started this half of the season well, with two wins so far. They won away on 15th Jan against Norwich city, 15:10. Will they achieve such a fine win when Norwich travel to Cambridge on the 29th? Cambridge also beat Manchester 17:7 on 22nd Jan.

First division highlights have so far included Tigers 1 against Lions 1 on 18th January. Despite being level at half-time, with the score standing at 4:4, Tigers stormed ahead in the second half, notching up nine goals without reply, to bring the full time score to 14:7. It was a good night for both captains with Tiger's Nick and Lion's Alex getting a hat-trick each.
Another big match in the first division featured City 1 at home against the all-new Tigers 3. Despite holding City to a low scoring first half, Tigers 3 couldn't keep City down and they won with a comfortable margin. Tigers 2 are also in action on 31st January against City 1 at Kelsey Kerridge. City 1 also take on Phoenix 1 at Kelsey Kerridge on 7th February. Both should be exciting matches to watch as the top teams battle it out. A not so even match will be bottom of the table Uni 1 face top of the table on Tigers 1 on 1st February at the Perse.

City 2 saw off rivals Tigers 4, notching up 16 goals in the process, which leaves Tigers 4 trailing the second division leaders. It's now City 2 and Lions 2, who lead the table. And Phoenix 2 polished off an easy win against Phoenix 3.
City 2 and Lions 2 are level at the top of the table on points, but City 2 lead on goal difference. Both teams are in action in the next few weeks,: City 2 take on Phoenix 3 on the 29th and Lions 2 face uni 2 on 3rd February.

Third division leaders Lions 3 stormed to victory in their match against team mates, Lions 4, despite a tight first half. The final score was 2:11. Lions dominate the division, with Lions 4 in first place, 4 points ahead of Lions 3, but City 3 trail Lions 4 by just one point, and City 3 take on Lions 3 on 5th February, which could shake the table up somewhat.

o Both Tigers and Lions are looking to enter teams into the National league for the 2006/7 season.
o Also heard a rumour that ex-Tiger Tim Asby is now playing for the New Zealand national team…
